Newborns
Let me capture the memories of them at their tiniest. Our babies change more rapidly in their first 12 months than at any other time in their life. Those ten tiny toes & that button nose will disappear in the blink of an eye!
Planner & list maker? We’ll get you booked in from your 12 week scan - all you need is a due date. Cautious and prefer to wait? Send me a message as soon as baby is here & we will find a space for you as soon as possible.
I’ll look forward to welcoming you to my cosy home studio for your newborn photoshoot while baby is under three weeks old. Most families follow their babies growing up through portraits, capturing each milestone as it comes!
Early Bird?
With early arrivals, I tend to give a family a little more time. I normally would photograph these babies within the first two weeks. If your baby has arrived very early prior to the due date or you have twins, these babies normally are very tiny. Since babies at this point are so small, you have a much longer window for getting photos done. There is no need to rush within the first week to do a baby photoshoot. I would recommend waiting until your baby gains more weight. Then, we can schedule a session around 3-4 weeks postpartum.
Fashionably Late?
If your baby arrives 2 weeks past the due date, I would advise doing the session as early as possible. This is because the baby has continued to grow. If the baby has reached close to 10lb size, they may start to become more awake/less sleepy.
What to Bring?
- Bring snacks and water for yourself. The photoshoot could take from 1 to 3 hours.
- If you are bringing siblings, bring entertainment for them.
- Bring two changes of clothing for you and baby, in case any accidents happen.
- Bring a couple of muslins to keep the baby warm during feeds.
- Bring everything you need for changing and feeding the baby.
- If the newborn has lots of hair, bring a brush.
- Bring any toys, props or special outfits you would like in the photos.
- Bring a pacifier (dummy) if your baby is taking one.
The Session
I thrive on capturing the most blissful and purest images of your new baby. My sessions are never rushed. There will be plenty of time for feeds, changes and cuddles. During the session you won’t have to do anything. Take the time to relax and have a cuppa! I will try different poses and different backdrops with baby blues, pretty pinks and natural colors too. The session is over once I feel I’ve captured the shots I need to present you a beautiful gallery. You can expect an hour and a half for a session but it could take more or less time depending on the baby.
Safety
Your baby’s comfort and safety is important to me. I am up to date on all vaccinations, including COVID-19, Flu and Whooping cough/Tdap immunizations. As a parent myself, I know first hand how precious and sensitive those first few weeks can be. My goal is to provide the most welcoming, calming and comforting environment. That being said, please do not bring anyone to the studio with a cough/sniffle, as I work with many babies and do not want to risk their safety either. With over a decade of experience with babies and children your little one will be in extremely loving, capable and safe hands.
Deposits/Rescheduling/Cancellations
Your deposit must be paid once we have officially booked your appointment. I completely understand that with newborns anything can happen and plans may need to change. In this case, please contact me as soon as possible to reschedule.
In the case of a cancellation; you can cancel up to 48 hours prior to the session with your deposit refunded. Any cancellations after the 48 hour point will not receive their deposit back.
Lastly, I want to say thank you. Thank you so much for trusting in me to capture these heavenly moments that will captivate your heart. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to ask.
